Securing untrusted client environments
Unlike server-side code, mobile applications run on user-controlled hardware. Attackers can decompile application binaries, inspect SQLite databases, hook runtime methods using tools like Frida, and bypass client-side checks.
Our mobile security testing evaluates whether your app can withstand reverse engineering, whether sensitive authentication tokens or personally identifiable data are leaking into local device logs, and whether backend APIs properly validate requests originating from modified client binaries.
Key testing dimensions
- Insecure Data Storage: Verifying that sensitive tokens, passwords, and customer PII are encrypted in Android Keystore / iOS Keychain rather than plaintext SharedPreferences or SQLite databases.
- Transport Layer Security: Testing SSL/TLS certificate validation, resistance to man-in-the-middle (MITM) proxies, and certificate pinning resilience.
- Binary Hardening & Obfuscation: Checking for R8/ProGuard obfuscation, root/jailbreak detection, and anti-tampering defenses.
- Component Exposure: Inspecting exported Android activities, broadcast receivers, and URL schemes for unauthorized intent injection.
